Well I didn't get the JOB

Many of you know that last week I interviewed for a job at Toyota.  I got an email today telling me that I did not get the job.  I am disappointed, but when I applied for the job I prayed and told God I was leaving it up to Him.  That was kind of crazy considering He has all control ANYWAY!  I asked Him to lead me where He wanted me to go.  Evidentially this was not the path he wanted me to take.  It is hard sometimes to ask God to lead you and then when he takes you down a different path to not be disappointed.  As many of you know I was in the ice cream line when God was handing out patience so waiting is something that is really uncomfortable to me.  However, I am just going to wait and see where he leads me.

Oh, and my fortune cookie the other day said "Don't do anything in haste, because prosperity will be knocking on my door soon".

4 Moms Cold Weater Recipe Link-up Taco Soup

Today's link-up at 4 Moms is a cold weather recipe link-up.  Here is one of my favorite soups.

1 lb of ground beef, browned and drained

1 can chili Beans

1 can shoe peg Corn or whole kernel corn

1 pkg ranch dressing mix

Mix it up and put in the crockpot for several hours.   I usually double or triple this recipe so I can freeze some.

Heaven is for Real

A few days ago I was shopping online and I saw a book that caught my eye.  The name of it is "Heaven is for Real: A Little Boy's Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back".  I ordered it and it came in a couple of days ago.  Yesterday I picked it up and started reading it.  I could not put it down.  It is an easy read and I was finished within two hours.  I would highly recommend that everyone read this.  It will put a new perspective on your view of heaven and make you think about things you probably have not ever thought about.

Product Description taken from Amazon.com

A young boy emerges from life-saving surgery with remarkable stories of his visit to heaven.
Heaven Is for Real is the true story of the four-year old son of a small town Nebraska pastor who during emergency surgery slips from consciousness and enters heaven. He survives and begins talking about being able to look down and see the doctor operating and his dad praying in the waiting room. The family didn't know what to believe but soon the evidence was clear.

Colton said he met his miscarried sister, whom no one had told him about, and his great grandfather who died 30 years before Colton was born, then shared impossible-to-know details about each. He describes the horse that only Jesus could ride, about how "reaaally big" God and his chair are, and how the Holy Spirit "shoots down power" from heaven to help us.

Told by the father, but often in Colton's own words, the disarmingly simple message is heaven is a real place, Jesus really loves children, and be ready, there is a coming last battle.

GOAL: Reading the Bible from cover to cover

One of my goals this year is to read the complete Bible.  I started out reading it on my smartphone.  Then I wanted to switch to a regular Bible.  I was in Lifeway looking for a large print Bible and they were all so expensive.  On the endcap I noticed "The Bible in 90 Days: Cover to Cover in 12 Pages a Day (New International Version)".  It was on sale for $14.99.  I picked it up and really liked the large print and the way it is layed out.  I decided to buy it.  I love it!  I don't know if I will read it all in 90 days, but if I don't I will complete it by the end of the year.

My Job Interview

A few weeks ago I applied for an administrative assistant position with XLC Services.  XLC Services will be hiring six administrative assistants to work at Toyota in Blue Springs.  Tuesday I had an interview with a rep from XLC.  I feel that the interview went well, but it is hard to tell.  There were about 20 other people interviewing for the positions.  This is a full time position with great pay and benefits.  Hopefully I will hear something tomorrow.

Mississippi Blizzard Jan 10, 2011

We live in North MS and we normally do not see snow and if we do we don't see much.  We were forecasted to get 4-8".  It started snowing on Sunday and continuing snowing all night into Monday.  We woke up Monday to 7" of snow!  It was an awesome sight.  Phil did not have to go to work and Nick didn't have to go to school so we were ready to play.  We all layed up and went out to play.  We ended up being outside about 6 hours on Monday.  It was the most fun we have had in a long time.

Our House in the snow

Our horse Boots in the snow

Phil and I all bundled up

Nick riding in the Rubbermaid tub

Well it has been four days and the snow is still on the ground.  Tomorrow it is supposed to get up to 40 degrees so the snow will probably melt.  We have really enjoyed having it!!
